During a year I collected information from the local gravel pit turned into biotope in the locality of Parsdorf, Germany. I controlled populations and migration patterns of species in that use the spot to highlight the importance of this area or renaturalization, not without finding risks both for me and the local wildlife.
Results couldn't be better with the Gemeinde deciding to enhance protection of the area.
